Cairo - two day tour by areoplane

Day 1:
Morning- Breakfast is provided for you at the hotel. Our friendly expert Egyptologist will take and guide you through the inspiring Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza.

Built 4600 years ago Khufu, the successor of Sneferu, was known as a tyrant and in his arrogance he decided to have a tomb built that was bigger and better than all others.
Cheops (Khufu) was the builder of the Great Pyramid during the IV dynasty. Chephren (Khafra) the son of Cheops built the second Pyramid, whilst the third was built by Mycrenios (Menkaura) the son of Chephren. The mysterious Sphinx, with its mask of Chephren and body of a Lion, stands close by as a guard of the land of pharaohs.
The Sphinx and the three Pyramids are considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
After that you will move on to Sakkara (located 25 Km south of Cairo). Djeser’s (Zosser’s) step Pyramid (built 4700 years ago) dominates the skyline and is believed to be the ancient Egyptians first attempt at pyramid building.
The next stop is the Southern (Bent) Pyramid of Dashur. Built from local limestone and cased with fine Turah limestone, it stands at about 101m in height while the length of each side is 188.6m. As with all pyramids the original entrance faces the North. However a second entrance was found by Professor Ahmed Fakhry (1905-1973) during his works in 1951.
We then take you back to the hotel to freshen up. For dinner you are invited to enjoy the delights of the best Middle Eastern cuisine while cruising down the Nile on a 5 star river boat. Experience the best of Cairo at night and enjoy the traditional Egyptian Sufi and Belly dancing show.
Overnight at your hotel.

Day2:
After breakfast you will enjoy the legendary treasures of the Egyptian Museum. Take a look at some of the most exquisite and ancient artifacts and statues in history. Then see the Islamic areas of Cairo including the Citadel of Saladdin - boasting the famous Alabaster Mosque of Mohammed Ali.
You will then make your way to the Coptic area of Cairo where the Romans constructed the fortress of Babylon. This fortress is built over the ruins of two towers from the church of St. Mary or more commonly know as the Hanging Church, followed by St Sergius which is said to be the resting place for the Holy Family.
For the last evening in Cairo we offer a great performance at the Giza Pyramids. The spectacular sound and laser light show is a must to see while in Cairo. The voice of the great Sphinx tells you the story of Pharaohs and their lives and how the great Pyramids were built. (The show is available in many different languages).
